Port Expansion Passes Provincial Environmental Assessment

The Provincial Government through the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) has given the green light for the Vancouver Port Authority to proceed with the development of a "Third Birth" at Delta Port.

The VPA is expecting a Federal ruling soon. The EAO has concluded that the VPA has adequately addressed potential environmental impacts through < a href="http://www.portvancouver.com/media/news.html">150 environmental commitments.

Despite much local protest, the Federal Government has given < a href="http://www.portvancouver.com/media/news.html">APPROVAL for the "Third Berth' expansion project.

For What it is worth, APE spokesperson Liz Gough has said that the fight is not over.
