"Demise" of Quality of Life

I would like to know how Port Expansion is going to cause the "demise" of my quality of life.

Will more trucks on the road make me so anxious that I won't be able to eat or something? Perhaps more trade and commerce will somehow cause me to get a cold or the flu. Will the stimulation of the local and regional economy get me so depressed I will become bed ridden?

If the quality of life I have become used to is not maintained by a healthy economy and a social safety net managed by a democratic government I could see the start of a "demise". Until then.....
