Taawwassen Area Plan Meetings

By Mike - Posted on 10 September 2009

The Tsawwassen Area Plan Committee (TAPC) has a series of important meetings upcoming. It is important that the community get out and observe what is going on. Supporters of the Southlands development should try to attend the October 24 meeting in particular.

Taawwassen Area Plan Meetings

Nope...it's a follow up comment to myself. The last sentence is for Dave who copied and pasted a comment from this site and posted it on the Southlands site.

I know this is confusing for some and I apologize.

It looks like you have responded to a comment that somebody else made, but have deleted that individual's comment. It is hard to follow a 'forum' when the only comments that remain are those of the moderator.

Not all....of course!. I have seen many shaking their heads over the years on a variety of topics. I should have noted that it is generally the same group of shakers. There are lots of nodders out there too. Grey haired or otherwise. Thanks for pointing out my lack of clarification.

I went to the first public info meeting of the TAPC. I did a quick head count (bald, grey, colored) and by my calculations 75 % of the crowd was well over 60.

That is a problem in itself and explains the crankiness factor as published in our local newspapers. I am appreciative of the fact that these folks have time on their hands. What about the dual working parents on the commute front?

Can a 6:30 meeting be reasonable when you have to feed and say hi to the kids?

I sat in the back and watched grey hairs (more than me!) shake their heads when an expert Metro architect talked about density and buildings fronting streets. What a surprise?

Selfish arrogant head shakers....a Tsawwassen tradition.
