Empathy Card fails

By BYCOOP admin - Posted on 30 July 2007

Pulled this little beauty of my in-box today. Yes, the empathy card failed...miserably it would seem.

Also, it sure didn't take long for Mayor Jackson to come across poorly (again). After congratulating the TFN on ratification she expressed her dismay at how the Treaty was handeled in secrecy and without Municipal involvement. Local pundits and indeed the Premier didn't waste any time in reminding everyone that it was Delta that walked away from the table. After 9 full scale meetings and apparebtly 20 odd in total since 2002, Delta threw in the towel.

As Premier Campbell noted "if they were excluded it was because they excluded themselves".

It would be nice to have a Local Government that could participate in achieving meaningful negotiated results rather than continually take the "head butt" stance.

I would hope that when the TFN joins the GVRD round table they will be able to negotiate their access to water and sewer facilities.

Could you imagine living this close to infradtructure and not getting access to it?

What a joke.
