Math, charts, seeds and worms

By BYCOOP admin - Posted on 02 February 2016

Planning to plant requires math skills. (Yucky) Not so bad when you get to be outside though! The young farmers have to document their seeding on charts so that we all know what is where. Send depth, spacing and managing available land are important tasks.

Are the children planting anything at the Tsawwassen United Church site?

The young farmers are learning that planning will ensure there will always be something to harvest every few weeks. This obviously tests their patience as the first thought is to seed everything everywhere.

Visualizing the vegetables growing at different times takes some understanding and thoughtful consideration.
