Dirty fingers

The Gibson elementary school garden club enjoyed a nice salad for lunch and then got outside to plant the rest of the cucumber plants on this toasty day.

As long as the soil is rich and there is lots of water , plants thrive in the heat that the asphalt itself absorbs. This makes courtyard farming viable.

At this farm the kids have corn, arugula, cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, broccoli and strawberries in the grown. Yes, all of this grown on asphalt!
