Asphalt you say?

Asphalt you say?

Yes....it is possible. In fact, some of our most productive school farms are growing food on underutilized land including paved surfaces. lots of compost and worms and a semi-pourous bed liner make these opportunities work.

The heat generated from the asphalt is welomed by our pickling cucumbers and other plants.

Only a couple of vines left in the district including thos at yeild champ Beach Grove Elementary

The cucumer plants did well and it is sort of sad to start pulling hem but happy in knowing some nice greens will take their place over the coming weeks.

These plants produced quickly and are now on the verge of packing it in. Probably next week.

I walked by these beds yesterday and the plants are twice the size now. They must be enjoying the heat!

That is impressive. Doesn't the spoil just leach out of the container?
