All our Beets are harvested

Dang! I thought my sage was going to make it through to Christmas but the recent frost said a big no! Now I have to go and buy some. It;s been a while since I have had to do that!

Last of the daffodils delivered to SDSS this morning

I may have left the broier on for too long. The yams were OK but the beets were a little over done. At least I know not what to do. I will try again on the big day.

With holiday recipes ramping up, I thought I would share this one .Skin and parboil 4 medium beets. Do the same to 2 large yams. Cut yams and beets in to sugar cube sized chunks. Splash generously with olive oil. Add ground pepper, coarse salt, a teaspoon of nutmeg and 4 or 5 cloves.
Roast in a 350 oven for 45 minutes or until yams are browning. Broil for last 3 minutes for extra crispiness. Serve with your favourite roasted meat or Poultry.
